Point72 Asset Management, L.P. has an opening for a Data Analyst, L/S Equity, in New York, New York.
Analyze a broad universe of Compliance-approved data to directly influence idea generation and investment decisions, with an emphasis on equities with a portfolio manager and a team of research analysts. Design, build, and maintain data products and predictive models that enable analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) and forward-looking metrics relevant to a specific sector. Investigate and explore innovative approaches to extract meaningful information from complex datasets. Develop agile, automated systems that rapidly ingest, synthesize, and analyze diverse sets of information in real-time, producing actionable insights to support timely decision-making. Optimize and scale existing data infrastructure to enhance performance, reliability, and adaptability in handling complex, high-volume data streams. Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, and modular code, creating well-documented custom libraries and data pipelines that enhance the team's analytical capabilities and ensure reproducibility of results. Stay on top of the newest technologies approved for use across the firm. Partner with Compliance on all aspects such as approved data sources, permissibility of systems, and analytics.
Must possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline and at least 2 years of experience in a Data Scientist, Quantitative Researcher, or related role in a regulated environment. Must also have: at least 2 years of experience analyzing structured, unstructured, time series, and financial market, fundamental, and alternative datasets; at least 2 years of experience applying statistical analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive modeling to large datasets; at least 2 years of experience designing, building, maintaining, and scaling automated data pipelines, research tools, and analytical systems using Linux, Python, SQL, or similar languages, including development of analytical outputs and visualizations; at least 2 years of experience collaborating to translate analytical findings into investment research outputs, including use of compliance approved or licensed datasets and systems; and at least 2 years of experience writing modular and efficient code, including development of reusable libraries, documentation, testing, and reproducible research workflows.
Approximately 40 hours per week; the salary range for this position is from $180,000 to $225,000 per year.
