Point72, L.P. has an opening for a Sector Analyst, MI-Data Research in New York, New York. This position is hybrid; may work from home up to 2 days per week, as permitted.

Provide industry content and business fundamentals to data scientists and engineers. Develop subject matter expertise on the key themes and KPIs that drive industrials industries and the companies covered. Compose research reports that synthesize research findings for internal consumption by investment professionals. Interact directly with investment professionals, learning discretionary investment processes and helping drive more informed investment decisions. Collaborate with proprietary research teams including

Product, Data Sourcing, Data Science and Engineering and Compliance to source and extract maximum value from new and existing data assets. 

Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field and at least 1 year of experience as a Financial Analyst/Trader or in a related role. Must also possess the following: at least 1 year of experience researching/working with data involving financial markets; at least 1 year of experience with synthesizing business logic and analysis into takeaways for managers; demonstrable experience gained during education and/or work experience with statistical modeling; and demonstrable experience gained during education and/or work experience programming experience in SQL and Python. 

Approximately 40 hours per week; the salary range for this position is from $122,500 to $205,000 per year.
